Project Focus

Epscan wanted a new website that integrated their branding, core values, history and what they provide to visitors. The project involved working with a project manager, creative director, a designer and web developer (me).

The Process

epscan_paper_design
Through various design drafts and proof of concepts between the creative team and the client the designer eventually provided a design that the client was happy with. I was then provided with an A3 printed design and PSD of the design including the graphic elements.
My role was transforming the design in to a responsive website. The client wanted the option to edit the site on the front-end and not using the typical WordPress back-end. After searching various solutions, I chose to go with Beaver Builder as it had good support and praised by the WordPress community.

Notable Features

  • Custom Map Markers and information
  • Editable Home Slider
  • A client carousel on the bottom of the homepage
  • Editable Vertical Timeline of Epscan’s history
  • Newsletter drop-down sign up using jQuery
  • Reveal effect for core-values (see below)

Reveal Effect

The client wanted a reveal effect that would show more detail on their four core values on the home page. Since there wasn’t an available plugin (at that time) to produce the desired effect I had to custom code the effect using jQuery.

Delivery

After numerous occasions of testing, fixing bugs and enhancing the website, if was finally delivered to the client. The website files were handed to the company’s IT personnel to take care of the launch.
The live site can be viewed at epscan.com.
