I attended a Nepalese wedding a few weekends ago. It was the first time to attend a wedding as such. I was really fascinated with the different dresses and outfits each person wore. The sari’s were very colourful and everyone was very welcoming.
The bride and groom sat on their throne in the front of the building and the guests would come up at different times during the evening to congratulate them and wish them success in their new journey. Unlike the traditional western weddings, the ceremony was held at the groom’s parents house first with only the immediate family members and the reception was held later for all the guests and relatives. Appetizers were served at the start of the event while the main course was later in the evening.
