For this website, the client wanted a revamped look and a convenient way to manage their online content. SharePoint was used to host their old website but the theme itself looked outdated and it was hard to manage content. My role was to take the static html template and convert into a WordPress theme which would help make it easy for editors to manage the pages and content.
The Transformation
A Widgetized Home Page
To simplify the editing process, the client wanted to have customized widgets, mostly for styling purposes, for each section of the ‘Home’ page instead of the default built-in widgets.
Other Notable Features
- Four image sliders on the home page with internal/external links.
- Image carousel on the Home page that would show the featured image of each page.
- News and Jobs postings.
- A built-in Help section for a newbie on how to modify the different parts of the website.
